Maria Ramos is the Group Chief Executive of Absa Group Ltd. Prior to joining Absa in March 2009, she was the Group Chief Executive of Transnet Ltd. This was after a seven-year successful stint as Director-General of the National Treasury.

 

Directors

ulpha_robertson Ulpha Robertson is the chairwoman of Yabonga. She also oversees the operational management of Yabonga. Ulpha has 15 years experience in teaching and teacher’s training. She is Director of Commlife Holdings and works on a voluntary basis for Yabonga. Over the past 13 years she and the Yabonga team established the educare centres, the HIV/Aids Training Programme and HIV/Aids Support Centres, the children's and youth programmes.
david_barnes David Barnes is CEO of Coronation Investment Holding. He has supported various humanitarian projects and helped to found and fund Yabonga. He holds the position of compliance manager and takes a keen personal interest in the activities and interacts regularly with the staff.
francesca Francisca Johnson is the retired head of the department for Early Childhood Development in the Western Cape and guides Yabonga on the various educare projects as well as expansion in the Northern Cape, where Francesca currently resides.
ursel_barnes Dr Ursel Berlin-Barnes founded the Austrian initiative to fund and support Yabonga. Now based in the UK Ursel continues to fund raise, both locally and internationally.
jeanette_masala Jeanette Masala is a qualified social worker and has 30 years experience in working with poverty related issues of children and communities. She holds the position of area manager with the City of Cape Town.
