Maria Ramos worked as Director General of Finance and offers her vast experience on a macro-economic level to the grassroot challenges which Yabonga faces on daily basis. She currently holds the position as CEO of Transnet Holdings and was business woman of the year in 2001.

Directors

Ulpha Robertson is the chairwoman of Yabonga. She also oversees the operational management of Yabonga. Ulpha has 15 years experience in teaching and teacher’s training. She is Director of Commlife Holdings and works on a voluntary basis for Yabonga. Over the past 10 years she and the Yabonga team established the educare centres, the HIV/Aids Training Programme and the HIV/Aids Support Centres. |

David Barnes is CEO of Coronation Investment Holding. He has supported various humanitarian projects and helped to found and fund Yabonga. He holds the position of compliance manager and takes a keen personal interest in the activities and interacts regularly with the staff. |

Francisca Johnson is the retired head of the department for Early Childhood Development in the Western Cape and guides Yabonga on the various educare projects as well as expansion in the Northern Cape, where Francesca currently resides. |

Dr Ursel Berlin-Hasenbichler/Barnes founded the Austrian initiative to fund and support Yabonga. Ursel continues to fund raise, both locally and internationally, as well as assist Ulpha in her management activities. |

Jeanette Masala is a qualified social worker and has 30 years experience in working with poverty related issues of children and communities. She holds the position of area manager with the City of Cape Town. |
